![]() For animal lovers this is a must attraction for Huntsville, for parents with children of any age too. After our driving tour we parked by the reptile house for the walking attractions such as the kangaroo, the giraffe and of course the reptiles. My daughter was slightly unnerved by the forwardness of the animals trying to gain her attentions for feed but she truly enjoyed every second. It was clearly actively trying to feed on something, much more exciting than any zoo visit I've ever had. You will find an assortment of animals during the drive but I was stopped in my tracks by the gator we saw as we drove near a fenced pond. The lazy gravel road leads you through the grounds with a few opportunities to double back for more if you wish. None of the animals showed any aggression but a few inadvertently banged the exterior of our car while eating or investigating. You will quickly find yourself with a large hairy guest if you roll your window down all the way. Upon entry, staff advise you to keep you window rolled half way down only and to throw the food far from your vehicle for good reason. With plenty of time left we paid our $8 per person and an extra $5 for a bucket full of animal feed before driving through the 2 gates and into to "the wild." Restricted to driving 2 miles per hour, we were very quickly surrounded by roaming animals quite accustomed to being fed by guests. 501 reviews Nature & Wildlife Areas This location was reported permanently closed Call Write a review About Features animals Learn more about animal welfare in tourism Suggest edits to improve what we show. ![]() We arrived a little after 2 pm and were happy to see the hours of operation allow visitors up until sunset. 45 minutes from our home in Madison City AL, the drive was pleasant as we left the city and drove into the sticks.
